Anyone who’s been to the grocery store recently knows that the price of groceries is outrageous. The dollars just don’t seem to stretch like they used to. Still, we all have to eat. So people are always looking for ways to save money.
Smart content creators are catering to this need by sharing shopping hacks we can all use. One woman recently shared a little secret Costco hack that has some minds blown, and it's totally worth a try.

Tiff said there is a way to bypass membership fees.
Everyone knows that warehouse stores like Sam’s Club, BJ’s, and Costco require an annual membership. The idea is that in order to access their discounted items and wholesale pricing, you spend a bit more money upfront. But when you’re already paying an arm and leg for groceries, an additional $50 or $60 a year might not be in the budget. That’s where this TikToker comes in. Tiff Bish, @tiffjessup, shared that you can shop at Costco without the membership.

'Use Instacart,' Tiff said simply.
Tiff begins her video, eating a frozen dessert from Costco. She looks into the camera and says, “Life hack: use Instacart if you want stuff from Costco.” Tiff explains that even if you don’t have a membership to these stores, this hack will still work.
It all seemed a little too good to be true, and people in the comments section doubted the validity of Tiff’s claims. “What? They ask for your membership number before checking out,” one user wrote. So Tiff created another video showing how she does it.
The in-app purchases are subject to various fees.
When you add items to your Instacart order, Costco offers a membership. But users have the ability to say “No Thanks” on the Instacart app and simply check out. As with any app, your purchases are subject to fees — a delivery and service fee at the minimum. There may also be a surcharge over the store price.
There were plenty of people who argued that she’d make back the membership fee with just three or four orders. But Tiff says Instacart works for her busy life, and since she already has a Sam’s Club membership, paying for another would be a waste of money. She only wanted to try this particular dessert.
It actually works.
While people argued about the app fees versus the membership, there were others who appreciated the tidbit.
“Honestly, Costco is so overwhelming ALL THE TIME it’s probably worth the fees," someone commented.
“This needs to be viral,” another said. “Thanks for letting us know.”
Another person already tested it out and found it successful. “Thanks for the hack. It was soooo worth it!!” they exclaimed.
If you needed any more proof that this really works, the New York Post confirmed the hack with both Instacart and Costco. Happy shopping!
