The holiday season is here, and with that comes new Taylor Swift merch as well. On November 13, Taylor Nation began unveiling Taylorâs new products. The Taylor Swift merch store features a variety of products from Taylorâs different eras, including the recent âTortured Poetsâ era. While many Swifties couldnât wait to purchase merch from Taylorâs holiday collection, others were shocked by the prices.

Swifties couldn't understand why a 'Tortured Poets Department' candle was priced at $50.
On November 18, Taylor Nation shared a reel showcasing some of the new âTortured Poets Department Holiday Essentialsâ on Instagram. One of the items featured in the video was the Tortured Poets Department Candle, an 8-ounce candle that comes in a black container featuring âTTPD The Tortured Poets Departmentâ printed on the front. The candle, which smells like âoud and amber,â costs $50.
Reacting to the new merch, some Swifties called out Taylor for the âinsane prices.â âIâm really dissapointed. A $50 candle? I usually love these drops. But this ainât it,â one person commented.
One person called the candle âa rip-off,â adding, âPlease, fair prices, we are fans, not businessmen ⊠a little respect.â
Some people compared Taylor's merch shop to Ticketmaster.
In spite of the prices, some of the new merchandise items sold out within seconds, according to fans. One fan compared the Taylor merch drops to trying to buy concert tickets on Ticketmaster, where tickets often sell out extremely quickly and then are resold at exorbitant prices.
âI am begging everyone to NOT pay the insane resale prices already popping up for this stuff,â one person commented. âItâs exactly why this stuff now sells so fast.â
Another person wrote, âWhy are these so limited? Shouldnât fans who arenât able to be on their phones two seconds after a drop also have a chance?â

Some Swifties even suggested boycotting.
Although many Swifties rushed to buy the new Taylor Swift products from the holiday collection, others wanted to make a statement and suggested not buying from the merch shop because of the high prices and limited quantities.
âWe should all just boycott her merch and stop buying anything until these insane prices come down,â one person wrote on Instagram.
Another fan, however, suggested that approach wouldnât work because âthere are so many Swifties that buy genuinely anything/everything.â
The Taylor Swift merch shop is also selling guitars for $399.
A new product was unveiled on November 21: Taylor Swift acoustic guitars. Some loved the guitars, which are decorated with photos of Taylor from her different eras. However, some Swifties called her out for dropping more expensive merchandise. âWe canât afford these â one person commented. Another wrote, âyâall will just sell anything.â
âHey so no one asked for a 400 dollar guitar merch drop,â one Swiftie wrote.
Although some urged Taylor to make her merch more affordable and accessible, others said it doesn't need to be.
On X, one fan urged Taylor to make her merch more âaffordableâ and âstop using âfomoâ as a marketing strategy.â âWe get youâre a billionaire, you donât have to remind us every time thereâs a new merch drop,â the person wrote.
Someone else on the platform, however, reminded people that âyou will be OK if you didnât get a $60 Taylor Swift ornament.â
âNeed people to realize merch is a luxury item and no one is entitled to it nor is it a necessity???â the person wrote.
