20 Sustainable Beauty Products for Spring

It's hard to feel like we, as individuals, can make a big difference in protecting the planet, but being eco-conscious and sustainable can go a long way if we each do our part. From using green cleaning supplies to reusing products that would otherwise go to waste, small things add up. This also includes trying to be more sustainable when it comes to the beauty products we use and spring, with its emphasis on new beginnings and hope — and of course Earth Day — is a great time to start.

To help get the process started, we found skin care and makeup products from brands that are committed to this mission. Because when it's easier to find eco-friendly products, the better are our chances of using them. It's as easy as returning a used "empty" bottle to a company with a recycling program or donating to a cause at checkout. We'll all be better off for it, and glow in the process.

Face Halo

Cotton rounds aren't beauty "products" in the traditional sense, but they are the unsung heroes of a routine and can be quite wasteful as disposable items. But not anymore. We can now buy reusable and sustainable versions of cotton rounds that can be washed and reused, like these from the brand Face Halo, which come in a pack of eight.

This one is touted as toxin-free, with natural ingredients like hempseed oil, castor oil, and witch hazel extract. The brand that makes it promotes recycling by accepting back empty bottles from customers.
