The holiday season is fun for so many reasons, but making magic (and buying cool toys and gifts) for the little ones on your list can be a big part of the excitement. Now that she has several grandchildren to spoil, Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is all about it. This week, she gave fans a peek at her life as a grandma during the holidays, and despite being a part of the royal family, at heart, she’s just like the grandmothers we all know and love.

Sarah is excited to celebrate with her grandchildren.
In an interview with Hello! magazine, Sarah shared her big plans to spoil her grandkids. ‘Tis the season!
“Grannies exist to spoil their grandchildren, don’t they?” she said. “I’ll be stuffing their stockings with sweets, toys and treats. I think I’m as excited as they are.”
She has a whole gaggle of grandchildren to spoil this year.
If she’s going to be filling up those stockings, there’s a good chance she’s already getting started! Sarah is grandma to daughter Princess Eugenie’s children, 3-year-old August and 1-year-old Ernest, along with Princess Beatrice’s 8-year-old stepson, Wolfie, and 3-year-old daughter, Sienna. And because Beatrice is currently expecting another baby with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi next year, this busy grandma will have another stocking to add to the mantel.
This grandma isn't a last-minute shopper, either.
“I plan a long way ahead,” she told the magazine. “I spot things I think people would like throughout the year and stash them away. Every year I also like to get special baubles made for everyone’s tree.”
This year, Sarah said she's 'spending Christmas with family as usual.'
It seems like the fun has already started, because on Sunday, Sarah shared a TikTok video of herself at a holiday light festival called Windsor Great Park Illuminated, where she appeared to be enjoying herself with Princess Eugenie and her kids.
Along with footage of herself sitting on a carousel, she said, “It’s Saturday afternoon in the dark! I’m on a giant rooster! Yay!”
What’s not to love about that?
It hasn't been an easy year for Sarah.
After both King Charles and Kate Middleton faced cancer diagnoses this year, Sarah, who has battled breast cancer, revealed that she had also been diagnosed with melanoma.
While talking to Hello!, Sarah said the experience has pushed her to encourage her daughters to take charge of their own health.
I have urged both Beatrice and Eugenie to be breast aware as breast cancer can strike at any age,” she shared. “It’s vital that we all take responsibility for our own health and if you think something’s wrong, ask for help and don’t take no for an answer.”
