3-Year-Old Comes Up With Genius Plan To Keep Her ‘Lion King’ Birthday Cake All to Herself

Humor is hard to pin down. It’s not easy to explain exactly why things make us laugh. But no matter how elusive it may seem, children develop and express their humor pretty early in life. You say “boo” in an infant’s face dramatically and they think it’s the funniest thing in the world. Toddlers are enamored with their farts and other bodily functions.

And then there are the ones whose sense of humor is a little bit dark. One clever 3-year-old tapped into her dark side and used it to her advantage at her recent birthday party.

The birthday cake depicted a morbid scene.

Actor, writer, and producer Casey Feigh, shared an image of his niece’s unique birthday cake. It was Lion King themed, featuring Simba and Mufasa. But instead of depicting the animated father and son duo in happier times, it showed the tragic moment when Mufasa died. Simba looks over the cake, shaped like a rock, at his father’s lifeless body at the base of the confection. Off to the side, the words “Leona is 3!” finish off the morbid decoration.

'You already got life figured out,' Casey wrote about his niece.

In the caption for the carousel of images, Casey explained: “My niece turned 3 today!! She asked for a Lion King cake but specifically the moment where Mufasa dies, because ‘everyone will be too sad to eat the cake & it will be all for me.’”

We have to admit, her plan is a genius one. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEONA!!” Casey continued. “You already got life figured out. Can’t wait to see what else you teach me.”

He concluded the post by admitting that he too was going to have a depressing cake: 9/11 themed for his next birthday.

'That kid got a future,' one user wrote.

The people on Casey’s Instagram agreed that not only is Leona onto something, she’s a pretty funny girl, too, whether she was trying to be or not.

“This thing made me laugh out loud at work,” one user admitted. “And now I may be in trouble!”

Others complimented her brilliance. “That kid got a future,” someone declared.

Not everyone was pleased.

Other people think Casey took things too far with his 9/11 cake joke.

“The lion king part is funny but not the 9/11 come on,” one user wrote.

Another person didn’t like any of it: “Wow. Can’t believe you’re proud of this and you’d joke about 9/11.”

All in all, the overwhelming majority of commenters thought this was delightful and they couldn’t help but adore little Leona.

“She’s a legend and we Stan her,” one user wrote.
