Joy-Anna Duggar Slammed for Being ‘Neglectful’ After Leaving Weapon Out in Kids’ Reach

This isn't the first time Joy-Anna Duggar has been criticized for her parenting skills, and something tells us that it also won't be the last. She and husband Austin Forsyth have fans concerned for the safety of their three children after they were seen leaving a crossbow out in their kids' reach during one of their recent YouTube videos. This is only the latest example of a time when Duggar family critics have pointed out that the former Counting On couple has been lax when it comes to their weapons and young kids.

The controversy began with Joy-Anna's latest vlog.

In the video, Austin was heading out for a hiking trip in Denver with his brother and dad as Joy-Anna was preparing for a fun girls' weekend. But as Austin was getting ready to leave and saying goodbye to kids Gideon, Evelyn, and Gunner, fans noticed something in the background that really could have harmed them.

Austin left his crossbow out in the kitchen.

As Joy went outside to watch Austin pack up the RV his family was taking on their adventure, she asked him, "Babe, did you get your crossbow off the counter?"

Considering the fact that the entire family — little ones included — had just been in the kitchen together, it's clear that the kids were around the crossbow while it was still in their reach.

Critics immediately deemed the moment unsafe.

As The Sun pointed out, Duggar fans took to a popular subreddit to air out their concerns for Joy and Austin's kids.

"It’s just dumb luck that nothing tragic has happened at this point," one person wrote.

"Because that is the next place for Forsyth to store his weapons, seeing that the guns already took up all the space on the kitchen table," another commenter added.

Others took the opportunity to point out the entire family's lack of safety precautions in general.

"One day something really bad will happen to those kids. Not only Joy's but the Duggars' kids in general. I was watching the old episodes and it's full of neglectful behaviours from the adults," one person wrote. "They are being really neglectful with the safety of their precious blessings and one day something bad will happen."

Joy and Austin have been called out for a similar issue before.

Not only have they been called out for carrying a gun with them while hiking with their children in tow but also irresponsible gun ownership in general after fans spotted a rifle on a chair in their home in another YouTube video.

Here's hoping that Joy and Austin are listening to the criticism, as hard as it may be to hear. Safety around weapons is so important, especially when little kids are around.
