Josh Duggar Photographed in Prison for the First Time in 2 Years

Sightings of Josh Duggar have been rare in the years since he was convicted of crimes involving possessing and receiving child sexual assault material, but we now have an update. Josh was photographed at the federal prison facility in Seagoville, Texas, where he’s serving time. This marks the first time the former reality star has resurfaced in a photo in two years.

In the photos, Josh is behind a fence while outside at the prison.

In photos obtained by The Sun, which were snapped on November 22, Josh can be seen walking a track on prison grounds while wearing a T-shirt, shorts, and sunglasses. He looks a bit different here than those who watched 19 Kids & Counting might remember; these days, he’s sporting a mustache and a short beard.

Josh celebrated Thanksgiving at the facility that same week.

According to the news outlet, the Thanksgiving dinner that Josh and fellow inmates were served this year included “roasted turkey, glazed ham, cornbread dressing with turkey gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, and two rolls.” It also offered multiple pies for dessert.

For the holiday weekend, inmates were able to play board games like Monopoly, Dominos, Name That Tune, and Checkers, and activities such as handball and racquetball were also made available.

One of the details in the new photos stuck out more than Josh's mustache.

As Ok! Magazine pointed out, in the photos of Josh walking the track, he can be seen wearing a pair of Under Armour sneakers, which aren’t available for purchase at the prison’s commissary — and neither are the sunglasses he was sporting.

So how did he get his hands on them? A source said if prisoners are sent money from their loved ones, they are able to “make special orders for sunglasses or sneakers from specific vendors.”

There's a chance Josh's choice in footwear could put him in danger.

Attorney Adam Michael Sacks told OK! that wearing brand name sneakers might put a target on Josh’s back.

“You need to be aware of that kind of stuff,” he said. “Sunglasses is a luxury in prison, if you have anything nice, other prisoners will want it. You are setting yourself for a fight.”

By this point, though, Josh may have a certain 'status' among inmates that protects him from theft.

The attorney added that because Josh doesn’t appear to be concerned about his surroundings in the photos and is just “walking around, living his life,” he may have achieved a relationship with his fellow inmates that means he’ll be left alone.

Considering that Josh still has another several years until his 2032 release date comes around, that might be for the best.
