Comedians Martin Lawrence and Eddie Murphy will soon be able to call each other family. On November 30, Martin’s daughter, Jasmin Lawrence, and Eddie’s son, Eric Murphy, announced that they plan to get married. In a joint Instagram post, they shared the news of their November 27 engagement. “Weāre engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldnāt be more excited for this next chapter,” Jasmin wrote on Instagram.

Eric got down on one knee in front of an extravagant backdrop.
The newly engaged couple shared a video of the romantic proposal on Instagram. In the video, Eric, 35, led Jasmin, 28, into a room that was decorated with candles, roses, and flower petals.
“Itās beautiful. Oh my gosh,” Jasmin said when she saw the extravagant display. They stood in front of a large red heart when Eric got down on one knee and asked Jasmin to marry him.
They made their relationship Instagram official in 2021.
Eric, who is Eddie Murphy’s eldest child, shared his relationship with Jasmin publicly for the first time in June 2021, People reported.Ā At the time, he shared a selfie that they took together and tagged Jasmin in the post. “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU,” Eric wrote at the time.

A year after Eric and Jasmin made their relationship Instagram official, Martin revealed that he and Eddie hadn’t spoken to each other about it yet. “We haven’t talked about it,” the actor and comedian said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “We kind of just stay out of their business and let them do their own thing, and respect their thing.”
At the time, Eric and Jasmin were dating ā but Martin was already thinking about their future wedding. “I’m gonna try to get Eddie to pay for it,” he joked.
In April 2023, Eric shared a heartfelt tribute to Jasmin's dad on Instagram.
Over the years, Jasmin and Eric have both publicly supported their dads, as well as each other’s dads. On April 21, 2023, Eric celebrated Martin’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“From the moment I met you,Ā @martinlawrence, I knew that you were not only one of the funniest and most talented actors on the planet, but also an amazing father,” Eric wrote on Instagram. “Your unconditional love and support for Jasmin have not only shaped her into the beautiful, strong, and compassionate woman she is today, but have also helped create the incredible partner she is to me.”
He noted that he is “forever grateful for the way you raised her and for the way you continue to be a pillar of strength for everyone around you.” At the end of the post, Eric congratulated Martin for his achievement. “Congratulations on receiving your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; you truly deserve this honor and all the recognition that comes with it. WE LOVE YOU!” he wrote.
Over the summer, Jasmin and Eric went to Eddie's movie premiere.
This past summer, both Eric and Jasmin shared shoutouts to Eddie on Instagram after attending the Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F premiere.
“We had a great time at my Dadās movie premiere last week. So proud of him and the entire cast and crew for creating another classic film to add to the franchise. Canāt wait for you all to see it!” Eric captioned a series of images. In the third photo, Jasmin, Martin, Eddie and Eric all posed alongside each other.
Jasmin shared the same set of photos on Instagram a few days later, writing, “Congratulations Eddie and to the whole cast and crew on adding another hit to this beloved and classic franchise!”
